Food For Your Well Being – Drink, Refill, Repeat

April 17 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

  • Craft your own hydrating drink to replenish after a workout instead of buying a pre-made sports drinks.
  • All plants and animals, including humans, need water to survive, but the amount of water each person needs varies based upon several factors including physical activity level, environmental conditions, and diet.
  • Beverages such as black coffee and teas that include caffeine offer some hydration benefits However, large amounts of caffeine and added sugar in beverages can actually be dehydrating, so stick to water or spa water most of the time to truly quench your thirst.
  • In addition to beverages, certain fruits and vegetables with high water content can also contribute to fluid needs such as melons, cucumber, lettuce, citrus, and broth-based soups.
  • Thirst can make you feel hungry. Before reaching for a snack, drink some water. Staying hydrated also boosts energy, supports digestive health, and regulates basic body functions
